PVB bad first layer adhesion

Hello there,

I'm not sure where I  should post this question, please excuse me if I did it wrong.

I just bought a reel of PVB natural Prusament for my MK3S and I have some issues: bad 1st layer adhesion and blobs.

I tried some fixes without any noticeable success: PVB bad 1st layer image

I tried various extrusion temperature from 210 to 225°C, with and without fan, at .2 and .3 mm layer height. Printing wasn't better.

Even if it's a fresh reel unpacked few minutes before printing, I heard quite a lot of vapor pops. So I dried the reel for 8 hours @ 55°C. It popped a lot less but it doesn't solve the problem.

I'm using a stock preassembled Prusa i3 MK3S (with a .4 mm nozzle) and a homemade enclosure. The prints with (good) PLA are always perfect.

Any idea?

Thanks,

jlp

RE: PVB bad first layer adhesion

I think the parameters you gave are all stable and there is no problem here. However, errors still occur when you perform printing. Let's try some other methods and see how it goes.
