Polymaker PETG black?

Ive noticed that this filament is having a hard time sticking well to the Textured PRUSA sheet. It sticks, but not like It should IMO, has anyone had these results using PM PETG? On another note, what can I do to "rejuvenate" the Textured sheet if Acetone is not allowed?. My settings as far as first layer are spot on, Ive printed many things successfully and decided to use PM filament because Ive had great results using ASA in that brand. So far this filament has been spotty at best as far as results go. Any info would be greatly appreciated

RE: Polymaker PETG black?

I'm assuming that your plate is clean and that you dialed in the Z calibration specifically for the textured plate, correct?

I may or may not have used that brand, but I've done a lot of PETg on the textured plate and I almost always use Layerneer, both as an adhesion booster and as a release agent.

As for acetone, I know that the Party Line is not to use it, but we've had folks here claim to use it, in moderation of course, on a textured build plate without the world coming to an end.  I would personally avoid it, however.

There's anecdotal evidence that there are some 'good' and some 'bad' Prusa textured plates out there.  I apparently have one of the good ones since I've never had issues getting things to stick.  However, some (I'm mainly talking 1-2 years ago) reported very frustrating experiences getting filament to stick, despite the admonitions to 'clean your plate and clean it my way' and such.

There's also some anecdotal evidence that those textured build plates work better (as in the filament sticks better) after they are 'seasoned', as in used a bit, kind of like seasoning a BBQ grill.
