Petg problem Mk3s vs Mk3
Hello guys, I have bought a Mk3s from a friend of mine and have a huge PETG problem with it. I use the same profile for my Mk3 and Mk3s and the Mk3s is producing only strings, do you have tips for getting it done right? The filament is old and wet, but its no problem for the Mk3, I tried retraction length, z-hopping, fan speed (because a third market fan is used for cooling the print), retraction speed, etc.

Cura or PrusaSlicer?

Invest in a new roll of filament? And / or a dehydrator...

For what it's worth, the MK3 and MK3S only differ in the fan shroud. The rest of the hotend is the same, and the same gcode should print the same on both.
So any differences would be limited to fan air flow (but PETG fan speeds are already slow), or to thermal characteristics like PID calibration and thermistor accuracy/difference (which should be negligible).

Thanks for the several answers, I use PrusaSlicer and currently I am running my Mk3s with pronterface, I think I will try to lower or higher the fan speed, as it seems the only variable thing. At the beginning of printing it was printing quite fine with petg but the stringing startet soon.

If it was printing fine at the beginning but started stringing later on the same printer, you definitely need to dry your filament out.
