PETG on PEI steel sheet.
I have since my completed kit build MK3S only used the supplied Prusa supplied Silver PLA. I have a reel of PETG I will be trying tomorrow. I am intending to add Glu Stick to the PEI sheet to help with removal. I have Windex and other chemicals for cleaning. PETG is my intended filament of choice. I hope it works out. PETG works very well on one of my other printers.

Windex works fine for me for PETG; it leaves residue that is a separating agent. Particularly nice if you don't want glue stick texture on the bottom of your part.

With the Thekkiinngg textured PEI plate, I don't have to use Windex, glue stick nor anything else to get good release of PETG. I just wipe off with IPA every couple of prints. Out of the box, it needs to be thoroughly cleaned. Adhesion is great once after the sheet undergoes initial cleaning with Dawn. Thereafter, it's practically a perfect sheet for PETG.
Windex should be plenty on the Prusa flat sheet.

I'm in a similar situation. Did a lot of PLA this weekend with mixed results. Cleaned up the sheet and had a good PETG pring.
My steel sheet is really beat up and had no problems. PLA is cool but I'll likely only use it for limited use parts. PETG seems like it's exactly where I want it.

I find that printing alot of PETG onto the standard Prusa PEI sheet damages the surface, so I bought one of the Chinese ebay powder coated plates.
The Chinese poweder coat plate seems to be the perfect solution for printing PETG, much easier to remove (when cool) and no surface damage yet in my testing.
Additionally, it is worth nothing that you need to clean the Chinese powder coat very well the first few times you use it, after that, I don't even need to wipe it with isopropyl anymore (or at least not for a large number of prints)

Be careful removing when fully cool/ At least 2 manufactured plates from China are damage prone when removing prints cold.

The PEI Prusa uses seems to oxidize when printing at higher temps. A cleaning with Acetone will usually refresh the surface to near new condition. I do the acetone wash then I use soap and hot water to better rinse the loosened stuff off. A few gallons of water work much better than an ounce of acetone as a rinse... and the work room smells a lot better, too.

For these PETG projects that refuse to let go of the PEI sheet, I find that putting them in the freezer for a while helps. Doing like that prevents in my case, ripping the PEI right off. Been there - done that.

Ok. PETG print done. It came off ok. With my genuine Prusa metal sheet with PEI and Glu Stic. I removed it before sheet was totally cool as recommended. However I will order a powdered steel print sheet, for PETG prints in the future. I can see PETG a problem with the PEI surface.

Some folk spray a light coat of Windex on the PEI sheet and let it dry (don't wipe it off). This leaves a nice film of soaps that prevent superglue-like adhesion PETG is famous for. Another oddity is that from brand to brand PETG adhesion can be quirky. I have some Amazon PETG that needs a clean bed to stick. Yet a spool of European PETG from the Prusa store requires fingerprints, windex, and gluestick to avoid damage. Oddly, the Euro stuff doesn't even stick to itself, so no clue why it sticks so well to the PEI... lol.

I waited that the PRUSA powder coated PEI sheet was available before printing PETG.
I received my Prusa powder coated PEI sheet last week, and I spent this week end printing PETG on it.
Touching it is extemely extremely slip, like a non stick pan. But once it is at 80° the PETG attaches to it.
No issue at all during printing. Then I always wait it becomes cold.
What I noticed while is becoming cold, PETG starts slowly to deform and detach (a lot of crick crack) itself from the powder PEI sheet already around 65°C, and when it reaches the 25° it is almost completely detached by itself. No efforts, just a little flex of the plate, no scratch.
I think the PEI chemical of the powder coated sheet is very different than the PEI smooth. I do not see any PETG strong adhesion when it is cold, while I heard than on the smooth PEI it stays so attached that you can damage it in order to force the detaching. I did not try yet the powder coated PEI with PLA.
