Octoprint freezes in Firefox when I select "control"

I am facing a bit of a problem with Octoprint.. Let me give you a bit of history.

I originally built the printer and setup Octoprint on a Pi3 at the other side of the house.. because of this I found the Wifi was poor and I had a number of random issues that I accepted.. But to be honest, it worked pretty well with few issues.

Last night I finally moved my printer to its final home which is located inches from the router.. To my surprise the Pi/Octopi performance wasn't much better if anything it was worse.. As soon as I opened the "control" window my browser would hang..

I decided to try a wired connection, so disabled the wifi and installed a cable, and it was exactly the same.

I then tried using my iPad brower and it was perfect.. The UI opens instantly and all of the options work without issue.. But on my main PC, the performance is really poor.

I have just been playing and if I try with Chrome, its also fine.. My problem just seems to be Firefox....

As soon as I open the control view and the "webcam" tries to open, Firefox starting consuming a ton of memory and it freezes..

Does anyone have any ideas of where I can start to debug this?

I started to think that this was something to do with my PC.. .But I just tried from my works laptop and have exactly the same issue with Firefox, yet Chrome is perfect.

It seems to be linked to the "webcam".. I get the black box with "Webcame streamign Loading" and the browser freezes....

Weird indeed. Have you tried posting in OctoPrint's forum to get some help on this?

Yep.. And no reply.. Its weird.. I can't explain whats happened.. Its worked normally for months and the only problem I had was lag on the video.. I had packet loss, so expected this.

All I did was move the Printer close to the router where I thought it would be much better.. At first I thought it was a wifi thing, but even now with an ethernet cable it the same.

The behavour is 100% reproducable on TWO difference PCs both with Firefox... When I start Firefox is using 300mb of memory.. When I hit control and the "webcam stream loads", the browser freezes and the memory usage rockets up to over 2.5GB where the PC runs out of memory.

The only solution is to kill off Firefox... Chrome and Safari work fine, so this is clearly a Firefox issue.. But how/why now??

I really hope that the guys on Discord offer some help, as Octopi is now broken for me, as I can't 'control' the printer.. I can still add jobs and print.. But its too risky knowing that hitting "control" means I have to restart my browser.

I will keep this thread updated if I make any progress and if anyone has any thoughts, I am all ears.

The comments over on the Octopi forum is that this is the first they have heard of this and they have no idea what the issue is or how to debug it, as its clearly something with Firefox that doesn't happen for them.

Incase anyone is interested, here is a video..
