MK3S upgrade instructions

Are the MK3->MK3S instructions posted?
Not seeing them on the support site...

Re: MK3S upgrade instructions

I know the MK3S instructions are posted. You could just use the extruder chapter for the MK3S.

Yea, I was also wondering if the upgrade path also included printing/installing y-axis belt holders, heatbed cable holder, Einsy case... ( Nice, but optional, in my view...)

The new e-axis assembly implies that MK3S hot ends are different with the caution to look for an orange dot. Clearly for $20 a new hot end is not needed. So how does that reconcile?

Nothing earth shattering, just some points of clarification that docs would be expected to clear up.

I've guessing there must have been some 12V hotends that have managed to work their way out to customers and the orange dot is just to identify the hotend as 24V. If you are upgrading a working printer the assumption would be your hotend is ok to use.

Re: MK3S upgrade instructions

I think the dots are for the lengths of PTFE tube. MMU2-ready ones had a green dot because the PTFE was shaped differently. Reports say it's also shorter for the Mk3S by a few mm, so they probably orange-dot it if it has the shorter PTFE installed.

Proved my point. Speculation that proper docs would clarify instantly.

Re: MK3S upgrade instructions

There is also more to the upgrade than assembling the new extruder. How much of our existing Mk3 do we have to disassemble and in what order? For example it looks like we will have to unwrap the cables to fit a new sensor cable as the filament sensor have different cables. Having ordered the upgrade, from an R3 machine built a month ago, I am wondering if the hassle of disassembly will be worth it. I’ll probably wait until some results are posted.
