nice xyz calibration! Great Job! The Nozzle gets realy close to the Heatbed but in my case - no problem. It does not hit the bed.

1st print is in progress.

MK3:
- new xyz calibration

so far, I'm seeing the most consistent first layers I've ever had with the mk3 after redoing the cali with no correction needed. the display spit out gibberish after completing, but I can't argue with the results.

! STUNNING ! Toplayer (without LA it always looked like crap) and a bug in the display seems to have gone where a single character was "mirrored" to a line it does not belong 😉

Hi,

I tried this firmware. I have still shift in the layers. Please look at the picture. It seems to be ok when filament sensor and crush detection is off. I will try it again without these features.

Hi Kamil,
let me know about the outcome of your testing. Filament sensor, nor the crash detection should be affecting the print quality.

Hi,

I tested this firmware and had layer shift as well.

I saw what happened and that's weird (I already saw that with previous firmwares).

Suddenly I eard the printer do the homing like after a crash detection, I looked and there were no reason at all that it crashed (flat part, no blob, ...).

After the homing, its starts to print again but the layer was shifted, like if the homing was wrong. I waited two layers to be sure it was shifted.

Then I forced against X axis with my hand to produce a crash detection. The printer did the homing again and it restarts printing to the good position.

So, it's like if the printer detects crash for wrong reason, make a bad homing, and a layer shift happens. But if there's a real crash, homing is good and no layer shift.

That's weird because homing is homing, but that's what happened each time I saw a layer shift with severals firmware.

I disabled crash detection and we will see. I let filament sensor on, never had problem with it and I don't see how it could produce layer shift.

Positive point : Linear advance seems to be very nice ! The angles are really good !

Can you disable the safety timers?
What if I have a FIlament change during the print with M600 and I take more then 15 minute to get to the printer?

The timer is now longer in RC2 (30 min).

Sorry for late answer but my print took 36h and I left it at work during the weekend to finish it. Here you have results. I print all without the crash detection. It looks much better, even maybe it is only my experience but the first layer looks much better than before. I agree with previous post that after crash detection the printer, it seems does not back to the same place. Sometimes, it shows crashes without a reason. possible to set less sensitivity of detection?? I had for example 3 crashes on X and 12 on Y. In addition, somebody knows how to improve angle printing? I put support below but I am not very happy with results, pls look at the picture.
