Filament Jammed 3/4's of way down PTFE tube

Folks,

Repeat event here.  After few hours of printing my extruder stops extruding.  Filament stops flowing.  If I am near the machine, I hear the clicking of the stepper as it tries to force the filament down the PTFE, but the mass that forms at the bottom of the filament stops all flow.

I have adjusted the tension on the idler screw that holds the filament gears together.  Any ideas?

Update:  I increased layer size from 0.05 to 0.15 and the print worked without jamming.  No other changes.

What do I have wrong at the lower layer size?

Try reducing your retraction to say 0.4mm or 0.2mmthis will reduce the amount of hot filament pumped back into the heat break on every retraction
