Do I need the Original Prusa i3 MK2.5S/MK3S Multi Material 2S upgrade kit (MMU2S)?
Hi, I need some clarifications. From the online store, the Original Prusa i3 MK3S kit seems to hold two spools. Am I correct that if I am willing to manually change the filaments to the printer during the print process, no extra kit is required. However, if I want to use solvable support or do not want to change the color manually all the time during the print process, I need to buy the following product. Am I correct?
Does the software allow the user to decide where to change the color and what color filament is used?

Hi Peter,
This link points to an old thread which was based on an earlier version of the slicer software, https://forum.prusa3d.com/forum/original-prusa-i3-mk3s-mk3-how-do-i-print-this-printing-help/acting-as-my-own-mmu/#post-100939
all of the relevant controls are in the current Prusa Slicer, just in different places.
I hope this helps...
If your model require a lot of changes, the MMU2s or Pallette 2 may be a better option.
P.S.you.can.change.colour by layer height as well.

Thanks. Yes, I saw a video about cutting the filament to stop the printer. Then changed the filament to a different color one and continued.

Hi!
Sorry if this is a quite basic question but I'm new at 3D printing.
Is this a whole-proper printer or an update in case you already have the old version?
Thanks! 🤓
