Buzzing fan at startup
I've noticed that the Noctua(?) fan, the one that sits at an angle in front of the print head, on my Original Prusa i3 MK3S has been making a nasty buzzing sound when I first turn it on for about two or three seconds. When I start to print and it finally comes on, it sounds fine...until today when it started buzzing for a little bit and then quieted down.
Is this normal behavior or should I be seeking a replacement?
FWIW, prints seem to be coming out OK, but they won't if the fan fails.
Thanks

Hi Bill,
the liklihood is that the bearings are wearing out.
you could try peeling the label off the hub, and putting a couple of drops of oil into the bearing, then wipe the surface clean, and put the sticker back again.
regards Joan.
Probably also worth ordering a replacement for when you need it!

The printer is only about 5 months old and hasn't run a full kg of filament through it yet. So, I think it might be a case of infant mortality then.
Thanks for the input.

Have a word with Prusa Chat,
the fans should last quite a while. it if is infant mortality then they will replace the part!
