Z Axis crash

I've been involved in a long process of "There's a hole in my bucket" which has lead me down a string of other problems.  Before this my printer was running fine after first assembly for roughly two months.  I had to pull some of the extruder apart and essentially install a new heat block cartridge.

Weeks later when doing the set up wizard when on the part of 'Z' calibration. The nozzle crashes into the print bed. It tells me that there is debris on the sensor.  I wiped it off, checked to make sure it's still plugged into the Einsy board, it's still lined up above the print bed (doesn't wander off)  I didn't have to adjust anything on or near the motors along the ballast so I feel like they shouldn't be the problem.  The extruder is the only thing I tampered with pre 24 things going wrong.

Any ideas?

Pinda/Spinda position

If your print head is crashing into the heat bed, it may mean that the pinda/spinda sensor is mispositioned.  Since you had the extruder apart, it is likely you need to re-do the PINDA rough adjustment (eyeball on both sides of X axis) and then a fine adjustment (piece of paper).  Since the rough adjustment is reliant on finding the bed (get close) I'm guessing your PINDA sensor got moved during your extruder archaeology.

Dan Rogers, you were right again.  Even though I repositioned my PINDA, I moved it far down this time and it seemed to register.  You've been of great help and now I'm printing away again.

 Thank you so much.
