Y Axis Belt Alignment Problems
Hi,
So I am working on assembling my Mk3s+ but am having some issues with aligning the belt for the y axis. No matter where I put the y motor pulley or what angle the y belt hold is at the belt wanders on the pulley (and the idler) or just rubs on the side. Is this normal? I thought ideally that the belt should stay centered on the idler. Any help would be appreciated, thank you.
Here is a video:

It is a bit hard to tell from the video but it looks to me like the part of the belt nearest the motor is offset slightly to the right where it fastens to the carriage. Perhaps it needs to be inserted a bit more deeply in the clamp.

RE: Y Axis Belt Alignment Problems
This is exactly how my Y-axis belt tracks on my 2 month old MK3S+. I don't think the rubbing is significant enough to cause any problems. Well, at least it hasn't caused any issues in several hundred hours of print time so far...

@jwvaughn
Thank you for the reply. Is the piece you are referring to the right belt holder in the following picture? I have the belt in as far as it will go into that piece.
Yes, and it looks OK in that picture. Just to check if the mount itself is off, lay a straight edge on top parallel with the belt then look straight down. It would not take much of a misalignment to cause what you are seeing.
I don't think it will cause you any grief but if you are concerned, contact Prusa support via chat and show them the video and get their opinion. They don't monitor the forum but from what I have heard, they are quite responsive on chat.

RE: Y Axis Belt Alignment Problems
Ok, thank you both. I think I am going to just continue with assembly since it seems pretty minor
RE: Y Axis Belt Alignment Problems
The pulley(on motor side) is on my printer a little to the left, possible this could help. I have a small gab to the motor.
But I would first check if belt is in the middle , in middle of bed, printer.
The part in the middle where the printer is standing on, could this be build 180 degrees wrong way?
