XYZ Calibration Z not going all the way up
Just finished assembling my MK3S+ last night and am now stuck on the initial calibration steps. Specifically the XYZ calibration where the Z axis is supposed to travel all the way to the top and rattle but it only goes a few inches up at most for me. I have searched and tried several things but no progress yet.
I have loosened the Z motor covers, the screws on the trapezoidal nuts, and even the screws for the motors themselves as well as the top pieces where the leadscrews and smooth rods go it. I have done the reset process and cleared all data numerous times in between trying all of these things. I can manually jog the Z axis up and down fine.
I emailed support earlier and they suggested loosening the covers and trapezoidal nuts which I did. I also took a short video of where it stops and replied with that as requested. I understand with the holiday and all that support may be slower than usual so I'm not worried about that at this point but thought maybe I could get other suggestions here while waiting on support.
I just hope I don't have to disassemble too much as I just spent over 20 hands on hours putting this together and I'm not in the mood to do a lot of reassembly work.
Here is the video I sent to support: https://forum.prusa3d.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Img-0235.m4v

That seems an odd one. Did support have you re-flash the firmware?

No, but I will try that tomorrow.

Sounds good. Please let us know how you make out.

Firmware updated and no change. I've figured out that if I move the Z axis to the top and start the XYZ calibration it seems to proceed normally. It found all 4 initial points then prompts me to install the steel sheet. On that next part it fails in the back right corner saying sensor not found but I noticed an odd noise like its binding on the right side. It almost looks like the left side is moving slightly more than the right side but I can't be sure.
I aborted the calibration and starting jogging the Z axis from the LCD and noticed that the noise happens in a certain area only. I tried to capture it in the attached video. So, something is binding when it is in that area it seems even with all of the screws still loose.

I believe I found my issue. After taking apart the right side of the Z axis for like the 5th time I noticed the screw head for the pulley was very close to the back of the lead screw. I guess I didn't screw it in far enough during assembly. Tightened that down and put it all back together. Ran through the XYZ calibration without errors and the result was X/Y axes are perpendicular! I did another clear of all settings to start the wizard from scratch and I am now printing my benchy,

That’s awesome! Glad you got it sorted.
Enjoy your new printer.
