XYZ calibration failed. Bed calibration point was not found.

I'm getting the error message "XYZ calibration failed. Bed calibration point was not found." when I run XYZ calibration. After the Z axis goes up to the top and instructs me to put the paper on the heatbed, it comes down but doesn't seem to go far enough down to find the calibration point. After circling around the first point for a bit, it gives up with that error.
I've seen a few threads about this message but none of them seem to apply. The PINDA detects metal objects placed near the tip. It's plugged into the einsy correctly and the sensor value visible under the support menu seems to be accurate. I tried lowering the PINDA to just under 1mm above the nozzle, still failed. Lowered it to flush with the nozzle, still failed. Lowered it to about 4mm *below* the nozzle, and THEN the XYZ calibration passed as normal. But, obviously, I can't keep it like that because it wouldn't print. Has anyone seen this flavor of the issue before? how was it resolved? I've been at it all day with no success.

It's worth mentioning, this is happening after reassembling the printer after installing an upgrade - (i3 MK3) -> (i3 MK3S + MMU2S). It worked perfectly before the upgrade. The MMU seems to be fully operational and I am able to load and unload filament as expected.

Assuming you did a Firmware upgrade. MK3S firmware is different - and requires a firmware memory clear.

Check first for binding bearings. Power off and move extruder both directions. Should be smooth with no binding felt.

Same for the Y table. Especially check for any obstructions, like cables or zip ties. Or MMU tubes...

As part of the conversion - did you remove anything like the trapezoidal nuts? Make sure they are right side up...

Turns out I had gotten the wrong drivers. I had flashed the i3 MK3 / MMU2.0 drivers but needed the i3 MK3S / MMU2S drivers.
Thanks for the tip @robert-rmm200

After spending about 1 day (on and off) with support, it was a semi faulty PINDA probe.
My printer could still print fine but just XYZ calibration failed with point not found at point 4.

Once I received the new PINDA probe, XYZ passed.

When my extruder comes down to check the 4 points it does not do any circles like my 2.5 does. It just stops and give a calibration failure error.

I have flashed the printer with the latest firmware.

Interesting that when I did a cal on my 2.5 just to check the procedure, it did all the 4 circles and after number 4 showed a calibration failure also even though it has been printing great since August 2017. Any suggestions on this one also?

@merrill-a 'point not found'?

Even though my Pinda lights up when it is near a point, I am thinking that this is a Pinda problem????

Will try a new PINDA as soon as I get it from Prusa EShop.
