What is wrong with my y-axis? [SOLVED]

It seems very herky-jerky when I move it (see above youtube video). Please advise.

Did you over tighten the U-Bolts? Try loosen them and look if it's better.

To some extend (absolutely not as bad as in the two vids, but still...) I also experience this.
It get's way worse when the belt in on the motor. Without the Belt attached, my Y Axis is super smooth.

So yeah check the u-bolts and when you're at it, try without the belt and see if you can also feel the resistance.
Loosen your belt a bit and see what it does to the resistance. With my printer it's -> the looser the belt, the smoother the bed, the tighter the belt the more jerk.

Also check if your pulley on the motor is too close to the motor case, it may rub on the case while turning.

With the belt removed, the platform slides smoothly.

If instead, I simply loosen the belt, it runs almost as smoothly. However, it is not then to within the spec stated in the instructions.

Wasn't the u-bolts.

Found the solution: moving the pulley away from the motor completely solved the problem. Now it is both smooth and properly tensioned. 🙂
