Thin/Stringy Layer
Running an MK3S with 0.4mm nozzle. PETG
Can anyone tell me why my first layer is so stringy and thin in some sections and not in others, per the attached image?

Looks like you need to adjust the live-Z to be a lot lower.

RE: Thin/Stringy Layer
How do you adjust z? Is it just the first layer calibration?
Your first layer 'Z' calibration needs to go lower, more squish.
At the end of the calibration you are aiming to print a single layer postage stamp sized *sheet*. It should be possible to peel it off in one and fold it without the threads seperating. If it breaks into lines like your example it is too high, not squished enough. If it is a single sheet but with wavy lines or drag marks on it you are too low.
For most people it pays to use 7x7 mesh bed levelling.
Cheerio,

Thank you! We finally got it set!
RE: Thin/Stringy Layer
Thank you for your response.
Where do I set "bed levelling" in PrusaSlicer?
Also, when I used 0.4mm nozzle everything worked fine. Now when I used 0.25mm nozzle, my Z Axis is 0.00, but Nozzle is still too high. Why does this happen? What do I do to correct?
Thank you so much for your assitance.
RE: Thin/Stringy Layer
You have to re-do the live z calibration each time you change your nozzle or make any other changes that have potentially change the position of the nozzle tip. Such as maintenance etc. So now you have fitted your 0.25mm nozzle go through the first layer process again and dial in your live z to suit your new nozzle.
When you swap back to your 0.4 you will have to do it again.
