Stringing with Prusa PET and i3 MK3
Hi,
I purchased my printer a year ago. However a few month (I'm assuming that it was since firmware 3.6.x, but not sure on that) my printer started to stringing on PETG, I didn't try PLA though.
I attached an image.
I tried to print this: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1093904
More details:
- Printer: i3 MK3
- Nozzle: Default nozzle coming with the printer
- Filament: Original Prusa PET (White), not Prusament
- Slicer: Prusa Slicer 2.0 (latest)
- Slicer-Profile: Prusa PET, 0.2 Quality
- Supports: No
Is there anything I can do to improve this?
Thanks,
Andreas

RE: Stringing with Prusa PET and i3 MK3
Have you dried your filament? No you cannot trust that a spool fresh out of a factory sealed bag is actually dry. PETG gets more stringy as it absorbs moisture.
By drying, I mean heating and keeping PETG at elevated temperature for at least 4 to 8 hours, not just putting into a container with desiccant.

Thanks for that hint. I'll try to heat it up and get it try. The spool is open for a while now. What temp. do you recommend for trying?
Thanks a lot!

Because the info may help others, I have summarized my drying experiences here.
