Self test at hotend check does a reboot

Hi all,

Got my MK3S assembled and went to do the selftest and the hotend test seems to fail and it reboots. Every retry fails at the same location.

Here's a video of it(fast forward to 00:44s) : https://photos.app.goo.gl/Pc9LSKyo8rTeovvx7

Firmare is at 3.7.2.

Thanks in advance for any help on this.

Joe.

That's generally a short in the heaters.  Inspect the hot end, specifically the heater core itself, look carefully, can you tell if the wires are twisted together or touching the metal of the heater block? Perhaps the heater is loose and slid too far into the block... and is shorting out there.

A properly assembled heater should stick out on both sides, with the two wires well separated and not touching anything else (the wires go into the large red fabric sleeves).  On the Prusa, they bend - but still must not touch anything.

In any case, contact Prusa support using the chat dialog on the store page (you must be logged in to your account).  They are the ones to help you get your new printer working.

Thanks for the quick reply.

I checked the wires and didn't see anything visually out of place.

I ran a continuity test on the red heater wire and it came out positive, but I'm not sure if that is the normal.

I'll ping prusa support like you said, and I'll post back with their solution
