SD Card not recognized
I had one hell of a time finding a cable to connect an SD card reader to my MK3S: no local computer/electronics store carried a cable with a male type-A connector and a female type-B. I finally found something on Amazon. But when I connected the cable and my card reader, the MK3S does not see the card & continues to display the "No SD Card" message on the LCD. I'm using the card supplied with the MK3S. The card and card reader work on my computer (Mac with OS 10.14.6). I have tried two different extension cables. The card reader doc says "Supports USB 3.2 Gen 1 and below." I have tried inserting and removing the card, powering the printer on and off with the card & drive connected, etc. No change. Is there some trick to get the printer to recognize the SD card?
THIS IS EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING! I have had the printer assembled for two weeks and have not yet been able to try printing something.
Suggestion to Prusa: For a few extra $$ ship a card reader and a cable that are known to work!

Why do you need to extend the SD socket?
You could probably go a half meter or so but timing and capacitance issues together with resistance are going to be limiting factors. It might be easier to move the entire LCD assembly.

Because there are no card readers that I know of with a connector that matches the one on the printer. Hardly anyone manufactures devices with that old type-B connector that Prusa uses.

Oh. I think I see the gap here. The printer provides a built in SD card reader - just insert the SD card into the reader slot in the (left side of) control panel. Once you insert an SD card, the knob-driven UI reacts and you can select actions to take on files on the SD card. There is not an interface for plugging in a (secondary) SD card reader, that I know of.

Does it say that clearly somewhere in the documentation, or is one just supposed to know that intuitively?

Please note, the SD card goes in, connector end first, with the connector pads on the card facing, at an angle, towards the front of the printer

Documention Failure
I was a successful technical writer for 15+ years, during which time I authored or edited many manuals for both hardware and software. I find the documentation of this particular feature wholly inadequate. Yes, it is shown as a callout on that diagram, and yes, it is mentioned in the section of the assembly manual for installing the LCD screen. But when a feature is essential for operating the device, it should be mentioned prominently in the operation manual, in at least three places, e.g., in order to print, insert the SD card in the slot on the left side of the control panel.

Also there are Video,s where also the SD Card is named and used,
