Prusa i3 MK3S+ Kit - XYZ calibration failed. Please consult the manual. - solved
I was completely desperate. This error message does not tell anything, only to check if all is assembled correctly.
I found out, in LCD -> Support -> "XYZ cal. details" you can find the skew value. Mine was 0.28°, which means "severely skewed" (more than 0.25°).
OK, I tried everything.
- Adjusting the tension of the x and y belts
- loosening and tightening every screw
- flipping back and front plate of the assembly
- slightly trying to rotate the heated bed
Nothing. The best value I ever got was 0.26° up to bad value 0.42° without any clue what correction would make it better.
My last calibration was at 0.39° with firmware prusa3d_fw_MK3S_3_9_2_3524
Luckily, 10 hours ago firmware 3.9.3 RC1 was released. The release notes tell something about new XYZ calibration algorithm and increased accuracy from 0.6mm to now only 0.1mm.
I flashed this firmware and I came from 0.39° down to 0.07°. The LCD congratulated me for my perpendicular assembled printer 😀 🥂 🍾
