Problems identifying my problem.

Just finished building the prusa mk3s, and did 2 test prints that came out very sub par, and I don't know what is wrong, possible multiple issue? The Gcode for these prints were on the provided SD that came with the device, I did not slice it myself.

(in my ignorance at least) it appears to have issues with z wobble, and scaring? The printer successfully passed all the tests, checking the x,y belts are with in the proper tension range (245,262) , and I selected PLA as my filement profile (using the stock gray that came with it). If it was not obvious the gears print is fully seized with zero give.

My first post did not keep all the pictures I posted, here is the back to the prusa logo, and the finished gears.

Did you do a good Z calibration?

@jsw

I believe so. Is there a better way to quantify it other than the cross section examples in the book?

First of all

Love the title. Is it just me I can't see pics. I assume it is the nifty gear box .

It can take some force to get your first attempt started. Worst case is you break something you've proven you can make again.

Look at extrusion multiplier in filament settings.

Yes, use one of those Z calibration test prints, such as any of several variants of the 3x3 pattern.

It does not take that long and is a good sanity check.  Those squares should be smooth and consistent across the print bed.
