Printing to close to the bed in one particular spot

Hi all,

I've had my MK3 for a while now and it's typically printed great. After not using it for a while and coming back to it, I started to experience a problem. It's very obvious when the printer is making the skirt around my print that, in a particular area, it's printing too close to the bed:

It completes XYZ calibration with minimal skew, and belt tension seems okay. Can anyone help me diagnose the problem?

Thanks!

Maybe a bit of filament debris under the steel sheet?

Maybe 2 factors at play. 1) live z is too low and 2) bed is not leveled.

I would recommend checking bed level first using Ocotprint plugin for bed visualizer (posted in this forum). Once bed is leveled, perform extruder multiplier calibration and then perform live z by following the (live z my way posted on this forum).

Thanks! Is this the octoprint plugin for visualizing the bed: https://github.com/PrusaOwners/OctoPrint-PrusaMeshMap ?

Also, how do I do extruder multiplier calibration?

Yep, that’s the one. For Extruder multiplier calibration see second calibration described here: https://www.google.com/amp/s/mattshub.com/2017/04/19/extruder-calibration/amp/

Good luck
