plate adhesion, I'm loosing my mind!
I'm green with only 2 months experience. The Mk3 has been printing flawlessly and now I can't get anything to stick to the print bed. I've tried alcohol, acetone, read somewhere to rough it up with baking soda. I've also played with the Z axis cal (down to even -450). I haven't switched fliliment (original PRUSA PLA and Amazon basics PETG). I also haven't switched glue sticks (PRUSA and Elmers). I did put in a hardened nozzle, but the adhesion problem started before the switch. THe fliiment doesn't stick to the bare bed, or to the glue stick (after the print failure, the glue appears to still be on the plate). The only thing out of the ordinary is I had one print failure that left a HUGE blob at the end of the print head about the size of a golf ball. I'm really at my wits end. Any help or encouragement is welcome!

As mentioned above, wash your buildplate with dishwashing detergent and water
A uk Brand name is FAIRY LIQUID,
I believe a us brand is DAWN.
then dry with a clean paper towel,
be wary of any cloth as you might get lint, left on the PEI Surface, or the cloth may have been washed and treated with fabric conditioner , which can contaminate your build plate
When this is complete, re check your live Z setting as this may be out of whack, after trying other ways of getting adhesion.
DO NOT TOUCH the build plate surface with your fingers when printing PLA... finger prints reduce adhesion
IF printing PETG, finger prints can act as an adhesion modifier, and make windex, glue stick, talc etc. redundant... If you don't have enough finger grease to prevent excess PETG or TPU adhesion, then wipe your forehead with your fingers and try again...
First layer adhesion is the foundation for all other layers, get it right or expect problems.

I watched a video on this and gave it a try, it works amazing.
This may not be officially recommended, but it works.
1. Clean your sheet really well with soap and water.
2. Clean with rubbing alcohol
3. Put a light later of glue stick (elmers clear works great)
4. Using the rubbing alcohol again, rub it into the sheet
Worked wonders for me

Best video I have seen on layer first layer height. If your first layer height is not right nothing will stick. Whenever I have had first layers not sticking and I have cleaned the bed with Alcohol, Acetone, Baking soda it usually is my first layer is too high. PETG likes to be smushed more than PLA to stick correctly. Also I slow down PETG to get it to stick correctly.
Get a first layer .stl from Thingaverse and dial in your first layer.

maybe an ambient temperature change? I fought with it abit, now I just warm up the printer abit. before it goes thru the 9 point check
