plastic always curves into a hook

hi
i just finished assembling my first printer, and i noticed that the plastic always makes a curve that if long enough hits the side of the nozzle and gets stuck there, it usually isn't an issue when the print is running but sometimes it gets loss during the print and messes it up or catch a string which is then dragged along and mess up the print

is there a way to fix it?

If the filament rolls up against the nozzle, it is a sign that the nozzle should be lowered a little bit.
Another reason may be that there are fingerprints on the bed. If so, clean the bed with detergent and water.

it does it in the air, when leaking before it starts printing

Excuse me but I misunderstood your question.
This leakage is quite common and it is different for different materials.
Unfortunately, I do not know if there is any good fix for this.
I always watch the start of the printout and remove the garbage shortly before printing begins.

the leakage isn't that big a problem, like you i just clean it with the thong before the print start
but it often catches the side of the nozzle and that is an issue

Re: plastic always curves into a hook

Some people use start gcode which keeps the nozzle temperature low during the mesh bed levelling phase to reduce nozzle dribbling.

Peter 'PJR" on this forum is one person who does this. Using Kiss Slicer
Chris warcocki is another such person... he uses Slic3r and Simplify3D

Look for pretty pla profile and pretty petg profile
