PET not sticking during First layer Calibration (Prusa Filament)

Just upgraded from MK3S to MK3S+, however the First Level Calibration is not sticking. I've moved my Z Axis to -.953, but have been as high as 1.2mm which I know is too low as it just globs up around the nozzle. Hot End is at 230, Bed is at 85, on the latest firmware as well. Any suggestions?
Note: At -.953 I can get the initial run going, then on first turn it just drags the print along with the Hotend, from there it just globs up on the nozzle. Seems no matter what I try I get the same result.
Running smooth sheet, but have the Satin one as well. Got the same result on that one.

Regards,

Jeff

RE:

If your filament is dragged along instead of sticking in the first turn you are probably way to high and need to go lower. Like -1.3 instead of -.953 or even more... values can go down to -2.000 depending on the placement of your PINDA.

If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you.

I'm assuming that you set the Pinda using the 'accurate' cable tie feeler gauge.  That should get it in the ballpark.

I'm also assuming that your build plate is clean, and no clean-your-plate-and-clean-it-my-way admonitions are in order.

I agree that if it pulls the zig-zag lines it's probably set too high.  If you can get a good look at what is being deposited on the build plate, try and get an idea of the cross-sectional profile.

There should be enough 'squish' to deposit the bead with a distinct oval profile.

This should be evident in both the zig-zag lines and in the solid 'flag' at the end of the print as shown in this drawing.

Thank you both.
Yes, I used the zip tie method to set the Pinda on the rebuild. Perhaps the Pinda is too high.

Plate is clean as well.

What appears to be happening is the initial extrusion starts at the top of the plate, then the Hotend moves to the back side of the plate to start the first layer calibration. The Hotend moves from left to right, from what I can tell at -.953 the filament appears to be squished. When the Hotend makes the 90 deg turn thats where the initial layer pulls up and is dragged along. Then it appears to collect around the Hotend. Nothing else sticks to the bed.
I will play around with the Z-Axis again and see if I can get a different result.

Adjusted to -1.453 and things started to stick. Looks good. I think my issue is solved. Thank you both. Much appreciated.
