New nozzle - First Layer not working

I've sized up to 0.8 nozzle now my prints are not working. Note: I have set my HW settings to reflect a 0.8 nozzle.

Issue #1 : Stringing - This doesn't seem to be a z-axis issue. Even after the print is done it still oozes material and strings across the bed.

Issue #2: Consistency / sticking? It's either not sticking at all, or its basically rubbing the nozzle against the plate. I can't find a sweet spot. It will run a nice straight line, then randomly break. \

Below are two first-layer tests with the exact same z-axis settings..

Looking for suggestions, thanks!

The usual advice about a really clean print-sheet applies but 0.8mm is pushing the max for the hotend.  Try reducing speed by 10% or increasing the print temperature by a few degrees.

You may also have a wet filament.  What you tried to dry it?  Do you hear any popping when it is heated up?

The build in first layer calibration is for use with a 0.4 nozzle only. You need to slice your own calibration print for other diameters.
