MK3 first print problems with firs tlayer

Hi all,

I'm running into some difficulty with my newly assembled Mk3. it seems to me that the pinda probe may be the root of the issue but i'm not sure. I offset it from the nozzle about the thickness of a credit card and i've calibrated the printer over and over again but keep getting the same results. I've attached a photo below and my z offset is about -.725 and i've tried other values with no luck. Thanks for any help!

what does the extrusion look like when you run the first-layer cal? You'll want to use one of the included zipties as a depth gauge, I think that may be slightly more than your average credit card.

Is that included on SD card Gcode/file?

Uhhh... Check the tension on your bondtech gears.

Two screws on the left side, just below the opening to view the feed system.

The heads should be "flush" with the side of the extruder.

This isn't a first-layer issue.

This is ALL layers issue.

This is some EXTREME under-extrusion.

I'm actually not sure what to say, besides check the tension on your bondtech.

Is it clicking, or making any really terrible sounds?

Re: MK3 first print problems with firs tlayer

Just got mine working a treat though looked a bit like that at first. Redid PINDa and ran calibration again, after tightening the feed screws as suggested. Recalibrated first layer to .2mm thick and now it's perfect.

Anybody found a way of damping the vibrations in the top of Z access screws. Can make a bit of noise when doing rapid side to side printing?

You can try some "damping Shoe´s".
There are already some available on Thingiverse.
Just print them in TPU.
But make sure you have enough clearance.
But it could also be possible that it is gone when you reassamble the printer.
My printer was quiet noisy from the z-screws/rods.
Now that i reassembled some parts and recalibrated the printer from the beginning, everything is nearly complete quiet.

Wer freundlich fragt bekommt auch eine freundliche Antwort.
