messy PRUSA badge print

This is my first print, and I am getting low quality prints on the badge, there is bubbling on the sides of some of the letters and the print lines on the base arent always paralel. Additionally, during pre-heat filament drips out of the hot-end and I have to pull it out seconds before the print starts. Help is appreciated!

If you post a photo (a clear cell phone photo is fine) of the result, people will most likely offer suggestions.

I suggest logging into Prusa's online store and contacting support. You're not getting typical 1st print results. A few notes:

Your Live-Z is very (very) high. I'd lower the nozzle (make Live-Z more negative) by 0.06mm and continue down until those 1st layer lines start to close up. Once they close, go maybe 0.02mm further down (more negative). The lines should be smooth and not ripple.

It looks like you're over-extruding on the top. The dripping filament is also a concern. Verify the print temperatures. Again, touch base with support as you should not be getting these issues with pre-sliced sample gcode.

First layer is to high. How to do a first layer calibration.

I swear by those 3x3 ('My Way', et. al) Z calibration prints.  Those will really show up overall errors as well as variations around the plate.  Joan mentioned in another thread that she uses partial ones, covering one portion only, so as not to have to print the whole thing  over and over when some areas are good.

They really do not take that long to print and don't use much filament and they are very handy when you suspect that the Z calibration may be off or may have been affected by something, like playing around with the extruder or 'upgrades' and the like.

I recently replaced the fan shroud, and it was a good quick sanity check to verify that things were OK.

I've got some sample 1st layer calibration STLs & gcode for a variety of nozzle sizes and materials here.
