Inconsistent gaps or under extrusions
- Hi guys I attached a picture of something that occurs from time to time — I am a long time Prusa MK3s owner I have four of them and for the most part they all work extremely well and I’m very happy. However when I perform my maintenance as I start to see quality degrade I perform my calibrations / mesh level Calibration / my cold pulls lubricate the axis etc. and then I’m always plagued with what looks like under extrusion or tiny gaps in random places on the first layer - I’m using Polyterra pla at 60 bed and 215 first layer - again for the most part everything prints very well but I’m trying to just troubleshoot and understand why things like this happen - everything hardware-wise seems fine but any other advice is greatly appreciate it thank you.

RE: Inconsistent gaps or under extrusions
and attached here is one I just did on one of my other MK3s printers using black overture PLA first layer 215 all other layers 210 at bed 60 and it prints absolutely perfectly - so as you can see I’m just trying to identify potential causes for degradation in quality overtime I’ve had these printers for many years and they have performed optimally but I just want to get ahead of the curve I have another mK3 printer that is down and has heat creep all of a sudden and I don’t know why after troubleshooting and taking apart the hotend and extruder assembly multiple times - I did post that issues in the forums here as well looks like I might have to replace a bunch of things on that but I’m still not sure
