Help! First Layer Issues

Hello,

I am new to 3d printing. I got my i3 MK3 a few weeks ago and have about 2 days of run time so far.

I am having issues with this part. I'm not sure what to call it. It appears that the first layer wont stick to the print bed? I used Prusa Control and am using Prusament PETG and haven't worked out the Slicer PE settings yet.

I tried with the print bed clean with 99.9% Isopropyl Alcohol and also with the glue stick provided.

The printer is in my garage so about 65F ambient temp, also I haven't cleaned the print bed with Acetone yet, but ordered it so it's on the way.

I built the Ikea enclosure, but I really didn't like the design of the spool on top so will be rebuilding a new one with the stock spool holder still on the machine.

I attached a photo of an example of whats happening

Appreciate the help and advise

Re: Help! First Layer Issues

Hi Zach,

looks like your first layer is uneven

did you use Prusa first layer adjustment?

it's not very easy to use...
I adjust my live Z using two files,

see Jeff Jordan's thread 'life adjust my way' https://shop.prusa3d.com/forum/assembly-and-first-prints-troubleshooting-f62/life-adjust-z-my-way-t2981.html#p124514

the file, 'S3D_calibration_surfaces_75x75@200um_v6.1.zip' is at the bottom of the first post

this adjusts the middle of the bed, then to adjust the edges of the bed I use a 200 mm square hollow square with concentric infill.... have a look at the following thread,

https://shop.prusa3d.com/forum/general-discussion-announcements-and-releases-f69/mk3-first-layer-help-t27316.html

the 200mm square pla file is at the bottom of my post, there

regards Joan
