Heatbed / Meshbed center is lower then left and right and front

Hi there,

I recently build my printer up and did already some prints. They were small and fine.

Last week I tried to print a larger flat object. And there i noticed, that the Heatbed is not completly even.
So I downloaded the 3x3 test print pattern and had a look.

After several attempts were i tried setting the nozzle deeper and deeper, while adding a positive offset for the front, left and right, it did not seem to have the desired effect.

And it also would not solve my problem with the back mid also to far away from the nozzle.

I turned on 7x7 Mesh-Bed Leveling and 5 times measurement. But that also did not help.

I unscrewed the Heatbed and put it back in place just to check if there was something under it.

Any advice would be good.

Attached are an overview image of the print as well a fokus image on the center.

There are bed level correction adjustments for this. You can adjust left, right, front, and back. They interact, but it's how I addressed the issue on my printer.  Just enter the correction value (think microns). Adding 25um to the left also raises the left front that same 25um.

Also - do you have a MK3, Mk3S, or the newest Mk3S+ ?? Which PINDA you have makes a difference is how to deal with this.

And - did you select magnet correction when you set up 7x7? By the way - keep it at 7x7 and 5 samples. You'll thank yourself later.

@tim-2

Ah should have mentioned that, it is a MK3S+.

I will try again with the corrections. For the magnet correction I have to check that.

It is just a little bit tedious.

The Mk3S+ should do better run to run. The SPINDA has better internal temperature compensation (so they say).

Set up the cal offsets and it should get you closer.  You can chase the bed flatness a long ways: right down to adding all sorts of "fixes" that supposedly correct it. The Nylock mod seems the most popular, and makes the most sense to me. But after I got the hang of setting up the bed level offsets (took me a few tries), I am quite happy with "close enough".

Hi,

ist there another way of calibrating the mesh-bed?

It seems like the value of the center of the bed is calculated from the correction values that can be set for Left, Right, From and Rear.

No matter what I set there the center seems always about 10-2μm off.

Help is appreciated, thanks in advance.

The process is iterative. Center should stay as the reference, but I've seen where it will shift if you add too much to any side.

In no case does this even get you near a perfect level.  The nylock mod - according to a few - gets you closer. But I tried a similar technique and finally gave up with mods to level the bed. 7x7 by 5, with 25um and 50um bed correction in a couple places got me the best results.
