First time useing PTEG on a new Prusa ..need some help
Recieved my Prusa MK3S+ this week and have put nearly a whole spool of PLA through it with great results .
I purchased the "Prusa Printer-Box Enclosure " and Wanted to start printing some of my parts ..they recommend PTEG @ .2mm layer 60% infill .. The PTEG Brand I had on hand is Overture and while it was vacuum sealed it is over 6 moths old (maybe closer to a year was a gift from a friend) .
This is what im getting, the filiment didnt bubble from the extruder at all ..seemed normal but I am going to put the PTEG in the dehydrator just in case ..while I wait I thought I would pick the brains of the more experienced ..anyone see a potential issue I should check with this ? By the way i tried the Generic Pteg and Prusa Pteg settings both with same results

There are 3 primary reasons you don't get first layer adhesion, your z-offset is too high, your bed is dirty, or both. From the spots all over your bed I'd say it's at least dirty.

Agree on what @bob-2 said, plus: .. PEI print sheet is good for PLA, but has poor PETG adhesion. For PETG, textured (or satin) print sheet should be used.

I would highly recommend putting some glue on your build plate to help with adhesion if you’re going to use the PEI. I use Polymaker PetG and lowering the z hight, cleaning the bed with isopropyl alc, and adding glue gave me a pretty good success rate. I just use the glue stick that came with my MK3 and it works well enough.

Thanks for all the replys I'm new to 3d Printing and after having great sucess with a few days non stop of PLA I guess the drastic difference in PTEG threw me off ..I dried my PTEG for 10hrs or so and Really put a good cleaning on the plate ..beyond just the Isoprpyl wipe down that was doing fine for PLA ...right now I'm an hour into the 2nd try for the PTEG and so far seems much impreoved but not perfect .. I did have a couple strings on the first layer but for now it seems to be fine im sure I'm gonna need to do some fine tuning to get it consistantly nice, thinking a heat tower test to find the best temp for this filiment for starters ? any suggestions from a more experienced eye are welcome, a solid above and beyond bed cleaning was a big help

I find the textured steel sheet better for PETG.

Some folks seem to have difficulty printing PETg on the smooth plate. I do most of my PETg prints on the smooth plate and I've never had issues.
I consider PETg to be a very good general purpose filament, within reason. It does not do as well as PLA or ABS for highly-detailed prints, but for larger pieces it's great.
I use it quite a bit for things like project boxes, model railroad building facades, etc.
I almost always use Layerneer for PETg prints, both as an adhesion booster and as a release agent.
'PETg is the new PLA' was a saying that was going around maybe two years ago or so.

I believe @bob-2 is correct. Adjust your Z lower and for sure clean your sheet soap and water.
PETG Prints great PEI.
I own Several of each type of plate and have been printing on PEI for years, If anything PETG sticks to well to the Smooth PEI sheet and I spray a Squirt of Original Windex glass cleaner on them so I can release the print without damaging my PEI.
If you really can't get your PETG to stick you may want to consider cleaning your PEI sheet with soap and water, then use Windex, or even, believe it or not (oils from your skin) as a release. If you make a mistake and stick the PETG to the sheet to well, let it cool completely, if it still won't release put it in the freezer, but only for 15 or 20 min then take it out and let it warm a bit and try again, and if that doesn't work you can try boiling water 100C (yes the print will deform but it will come off.

I can say for sure my original prblem was with it sticking to the plate ..now if its good and clean its almost too good, I've ordered a second plate so I have options .. lots of good advice thanks
