First Layer Problem
I apologize for starting a new thread. New questions in old threads get lost.
I'm starting to have first layer problems like 100k others after about 200hrs of printing. The machine Z height was adjusted by Prusa at -1.710 and printed amazing first layers. I'm now starting to get gaps in the print and I'm wondering if it's more than an adhesion issue.
What I have done.
- Live Adjust Z
- Cleaned nozzle
- 91% IA wipe down
- Dawn/hot water wipe down
- Acetone wipe down
- Used both sides
- Changed filaments
- Flow 95-> 100-> 105
- Calibrated Z
- Calibrated SPID
- Bed 65->60
- Nozzle 210
I do this same procedure with other PEI sheet I own and the problem is instantly fixed. Thoughts?
RE:
I adjusted Live Z again way down to -1.760 and it corrected the gaps. What in the world would cause a jump like this in Z height? Lose SPID maybe?
RE: First Layer Problem
A loose Pinda can cause all kinds of Z calibration errors. I would suggest checking to be sure that it is very snug and the clamp is tight.
Also, do you still get a significant difference between two smooth PEI plates?
RE: First Layer Problem
I checked the height and tighten the mount for the Pinda.
The only difference was the outer edges were not sticking as well. The waves were about the same in the middle.
RE: First Layer Problem
After a month of printing and following guides, I still continued to get waves. Out of curiosity, I took a PEI build plate off another machine I own with at least 5000hrs on it and no waves.
