First layer issue -- Extra filament being added
After having a first few successful prints, I started to run into an issue where the first layer gets pulled up by the extruder at some point during the print. I would peer into the active prints, and see a bit of filament that would be sticking above the rest.
I reran first layer calibration, and was able to replicate the issue as shown below. I'm using Prusa PLA filament that came with the kit, at the preset settings for PLA. Any idea what could be going on here?

Your live Z value is nowhere near negative enough.
See this thread for a much better way to get it adjusted.
RE: First layer issue -- Extra filament being added
Thanks for the suggestion! Finally got around to trying this out, results below. Great idea, the first few times I tried this procedure I couldn't even get a square sticking to the heatbed.
RE: First layer issue -- Extra filament being added
That layer on the left still needs a little lower hot end, try -.645.
RE: First layer issue -- Extra filament being added
The -.625 looks good in the right corner, -.645 looks to have gaps between the layer lines. The lower (-.645) hot end shouldn't have more gaps than the -.625, somethings going on. The look of the right side is close to what you want, just don't understand why the results look backwards according to your numbers.
RE: First layer issue -- Extra filament being added
Oh man, your first layer looks awesome. What did you do to achieve that? Mine looks terrible 😥
RE: First layer issue -- Extra filament being added
Try this...
First Layer Calibration
First tell the firmware which sheet you have mounted (smooth or textured) the last Z setting you set will be stored by the firmware for that sheet.
You need to repeat this process for each different sheet type you use. The physical thickness of the textured sheet is thinner than the smooth sheet.
Never ever mislead the firmware about which sheet is current. That can dig trenches across the sheet - or print in the air.
Hope this helps.

@gkmakeit
I tried but still couldn't get it right my first layer. Actually, doesn't matter too much, but I wish my first layer looks good as my prints ^^
