RE: First Layer Calibration and Questions

Hi Joan,  Well I went and tried the calibration square, and although I never did the wizard again or made any Z offset adjustments, it looked at first glance not to bad. However on closer inspection it was clear to see that I was far to high as there was no cohesion between the lines which would seem to indicate a lack of  "squish" so I will be running again today and adjusting the Z offset to close the gap between the nozzle and the bed.

I have attached a couple of photos to show what happened on the first run

On a slightly different issue, once the best Z offset has been reached does this get automatically stored within the printer or is there something else needed to be done to achieve this. I am concerned that if the printer gets powered down that the Z offset will change again.  Also if I use another sheet ( from smooth to textured ) does the new Z get stored under the sheet title?

Thanks for all your help and patience.

Kev

Live Z does indeed get stored, and should be available for your next print.
