Fillament seems stuck
Hi,
Recently built a Prusa i3MK3. Very happy with print quality and how it functions.
However, I was changing filament for my first time, from Prusa PLA to a different PLA 190-230degC.
Nozzle was pre-heated to 200degC+
Unloading of filament went fine.
New PLA end was angle cut at end as recommended.
Upon auto loading, the filament started loading, however nothing came out at the nozzle.
The filament then didn't seem to feed anymore.
I tried unloading, but nothing happened.
Also tried print calibration, but nothing came out at the nozzle.
I've opened the idle door, and seems like the feeder "rollers" are spinning on the filament. (see attachment) .
Any tips on what I should try next to get things back on track ?
RE: Fillament seems stuck
If the temperature is too low, the filament does not melt properly and the extrusion becomes very sluggish or nothing is extruded at all.
Try to raise the temperature to 230 degrees and extrusion should work. Then you can lower the temperature again but not as low as 200 degrees.
Since the filament has been sanded at the Bondtech wheels, you may need to help push the filament down so that the wheels grip again.
Bear MK3 with Bondtech extruder
RE: Fillament seems stuck
Thanks for suggestion. But still no help.
Heated up to 250degC for 5 mins, then tried load filament, unload, and load.
Whilst also pushing myself during load.
No movement of filament and no filament coming out from nozzle either (at any point).
Any further suggestions?
