Calibrate XYZ Fail i3 MK3

I have included the video of the printer trying to calibrate. I has never gone past the point shown in the video and I have tired everything that was recommended from the calibration error messages.

Any help would be appreciated.

In my case it was a failed Pinda. Tricky because it was intermittent. Test the Pinda by seeing if it’s setting in the LCD changes when you bring metal near it. The red light is not enough to be sure.

I have and the value does go from zero to one, as well as the light going on and off.

This is the exact same issue I'm having as well. Not sure how to check the Pinda's reported value, but the LED does go on and off with the metal sheet underneath.

Thanks for the video, by the way.

I'm having this same issue. Mine tried to go one step farther the first time I tried to calibrate, but stopped, and ever since, exactly like yours.

A couple of questions:

1) After a fail, pull the paper out and see if the PINDA is over the first cal point.

1) Is the X-Axis making it all the way to the top - to where the X-Axis support plastic is hitting the Z-Axis screw support plastic?

2) Is the extruder able to hit the X-Axis motor support?

3) Is the bed able to move front to back with the bearings hitting the rod holders at both ends?

Not sure about the PINDA, but the x-axis is going all the way to the top. When power is off, I can slide the extruder all the way over to the x mount, but when the machine is powered up, it sits about 3/8 of an inch off of the mount. The bed seems to be moving its full range. When I first started I had a error with the bed, but figured out that I had one of the zip ties pointed up.

1. This is where my PINDA is located when I run the Calibration:

But when I run the auto home in the calibration menu it lands on top of the cal point.

2.  Yes the x-aixs make it all the way to the top

3. The extruder can hit the edge of the motor housing

4.  Yes the baring can hit on both of the rod holders

This is what happens when I go to do the mesh bed leveling so I assume this means that there is nothing wrong with my pinda but it is something else.

Hmmmm...

Is your X gantry level?

use the LCD control to run the X gantry all the way to the top, one side may reach the top, before the other, keep moving up until both sides hit the top Z axis brackets, if necessary, reset the printer and go up further!...

Are your Y smooth rails seated properly in the cups? this could cause a similar issue.

Just looking at the video,
Where is your Build plate? you are working on the heatbed without the build plate, this may be causing the problem!

try again with the build plate in position!

Yeah - in this video you are running a mesh level sans steel sheet - a great way to damage things. Strong suggest you READ THE MANUAL that came with the printer.

Thank you I didn't know that you needed the steel sheet to run the mesh level set up. I tried it with the metal sheet and the mesh level worked. However when I run the XYZ calibration I will still just go to heat bed and stop as shown in the first video.
