Buzzing extruder
Hi all, I'm stumped. One of my MK3S printers buzzes. Not a pronounced clicking that usually happens when having retract issues, its more of a higher pitched fast grinding buzzing noise that starts and stops. In high density retraction areas of my models it can get pretty loud. Oddly, the print quality doesn't seem to be effected at all.
I'm printing with PETG and have extremely high hours on the machine but it is well maintained. I'm fairly certain I've narrowed it down to only happening during retracts.
Firmware/slicer firmware is up to date
I've adjusted spring tension up and down but that has no effect.
Tried a different roll of material
Bond Tech Gears look good as far as I can tell
Checked the extruder gear grub screw, was tight
Anyone run into something like this before?
RE: Buzzing extruder
Partially clogged nozzle was the issue. Swapped it out and its just fine. First time I've seen that issue come up even through 1000's of hrs across all my machines.
RE: Buzzing extruder
Scratch that. The sound is back after the first print using the new nozzle. I'm at a loss, any help would be appreciated. Thanks!!!!!!
