Benchy Feedback
Hello Everyone.
I'm looking for feedback and any potential improvements to make based on this benchy print. There are a couple of artifacts. Thanks in advance.
Re: Benchy Feedback
Number one, your hands are touching the PEI sheet. Bad idea that will come back to bite you big time. Keep the bed as clean as possible, including using tools to remove parts rather than chance a finger or palm print.
The overhangs on the boat, like the windows, will have some sag depending on part rotation and how the air flow cools the filament. Not too much to do about that except slow the print speed down. Use "detect bridging parameters" and adjust as needed.
The surface waviness and 'bad' spots around corners can be a few things, but belt tension is right up there. There is a belt tension stat in the diagnostics (check the manual). It's not a great indicator, but it lets you know if you are even close.

Layer resolution drives print quality. The step roughness is what I think you are seeing. It also looks like "Use extra perimeters when needed" was off, this can cause gaps in layers next to the perimeter. Try a finer layer resolution and see if it looks better. 0.05 will take a while, but shows the best the printer can do. And the Mk3 has a reputation for being one of the better printers at 0.05.
