Assembled MK3S, multiple hours spend trying to get past calibration and self tests. Help me please 🙁
MK3S Kit
3.5.3 Firmware
I finished my kit last night, took my time really made sure the instructions were followed.
1. First self test, bed thermistor fail, reseated cable and it seemed to work the second time. (I think my cold conservatory may have been the problem here low ambient temp maybe?)
2. Pass self test
3. XYZ calibration, the Z Axis does not move all the top the top stops and ram into it. It stops about an inch from the top and tries to proceed to the 4 corner paper step.
I've loosened aligned and retightened the Z Rods and Z motors, when manually raising the Z Axis from the controls it reaches the top (Obivously the values are wrong I thinks Z: 0 is in the middle of the print area.)
The black spiral nuts on the X Arms spin smoothly up and down (took out screws and give them a spin)
Re run self tests, Hot end temp fails this time, power off, check cables, power on. Test passes.
4 corner Z calibration now finishes successfully after the Z hit the top and came back down. The 9 point mesh test now fails on the 3rd point. Error message saying the probe didn't trigger.
I've checked my Pinda Level with a zip tie. I've noticed the pinda isn't perfectly flat in line with the bed, I can only get it so straight before the plastic of the extruder bends it back.
As of typing this the last self test now fails on the hotend thermistor. Yet when looking at the temps screen it's showing a value, preheating the temp slowly rises on both bed and nozzle.
If I can get back to the 9 point mesh test past all the other tests, Why does it not trigger on some points but not others. I see the PINDA LED flicker when it's close to the bed.
Re: Assembled MK3S, multiple hours spend trying to get past calibration and self tests. Help me please 🙁
Get the manual and video from prusa on what to do after building.
Adjust the pinda probe as in manual, but first adjust the Z level by hand(move the y axis in the middle), as in manual, the left(on plate) and right side make it level by hand,
then adjust the pinda probe in the middle of the plate(middel of the x axis).
Then do as in manual/video after building.
If it still not works, check your build if it is straight.
Check if you did not break cables then repair this. Or use a different cable (temporary), to test.
Re: Assembled MK3S, multiple hours spend trying to get past calibration and self tests. Help me please 🙁
I've spoken to support.
My temperature issues went away when I preheated the bed and nozzle to PLA and then retesting. I think the room I was in was too cold.
It looks like it was z binding, I've got new trapezoidal nuts on the way
God I hope that's all that's wrong. XY calibration is okay so pinda is okay support say.

@harrison.c - maybe this thread will help as I had a similar experience.

Thanks.
Support are sending me new trap nuts
Though now I can't pass a preheat test, I get bad bed temp.
My printer is cursed.

Update
After speaking to support about my intermittent heating issues
My heater was only showing 12V. PSU outputting...12V!
Replacement PSU on the way oh I hope this fixes it.
