Askew Printing

I Have tried to print this a couple different times. The first layers seem to be good then at some point it just goes askew. This should be straight up and down. What is going on?

Re: Askew Printing

Looks like a slipping pulley on the motor of the X or Y axis, check the set screws.
Less likely would be a loose belt jumping one or more teeth.

Re: Askew Printing

Thanks I will check that. I have a question and maybe it's just more amazement. I have tried 3 prints. 2 the same and 1 different print from the other 2. All a kind of box shape where the sides should definitely be straight. The one was a 30 hr print and I just let it go and realized it after it was done. It went great except it did the same thing as the picture. The lid for it as well did the same thing and won't fit. The other 2 prints are the picture I posted and I stopped the front when realizing it was wrong.

So the First layer on all of them seem to have gone fine and even a few layers after. On all 3 prints it starts to mess up at the same time. It amazes me to think that something slipping or loose would be consistently causing this. I'm trying to understand the science around this and wrap my brain around it. Thanks for a reply in advance.

Re: Askew Printing

My MK2S is more than a year old and has generally performed quite well. But a couple weeks ago I started seeing serious layer shifting. Turns out the pulley on the Y axis motor had worked itself loose.

Before and after photos below.
