First print troubleshooting

Dear community members,

I assembled Prusa i3 MK3. I printed the PRUSA logo and Castle, which were part of the files in the SD card. I am getting the following prints. I want to know if this is fine. I see many errors in the castle and hanging filament fibers (see attached image). Is this normal? If not, what parameters do I fine-tune to improve the print quality?

Thank you.

Have a great day.

Regards,

Nirmal.

RE: First print troubleshooting

The hanging filaments that are in the castle are "stringing" issues. It is not a perfect print, but it is a typical issue. This is a link to the Prusa Knowledge Base to help you fix stringing issues: https://help.prusa3d.com/article/stringing-and-oozing_1805

This is another article on stringing issues: https://all3dp.com/2/3d-print-stringing-easy-ways-to-prevent-it/

Have a nice day.

...but the first thing to do before changing any settings is to make sure the filament is dry - new does not necessarily mean dry - look up threads here about drying filament.

If problems remain after drying come back with a picture of the issue and two views of your nozzle/hotend assembly from different angles.

Cheerio,
