X-Axis Seizing When Print Is Starting
Hi all.
I've had my i3 MK2 for about a week and during this time I've completed many successful prints. About two days ago a strange problem started.
When my printer goes to start a print it first checks for the calibration points (as it should). It checks the first one without any problem, then makes a grinding sound and the x-axis seems to seize up when it attempts to go to the second point. The print head covers about half the distance to the second point before attempting the search for the point, only to wind up hitting the bed due to a lack of a calibration point, failing the test.
The problem is only happening when it is starting a new print. Performing an XYZ calibration yields no problems at all and the symptoms do not show in the slightest. I can also manually move the x-axis around via the settings menu without any problems. This leads me to assume it is a software problem since it only occurs when this one specific test is happening. However, updating the firmware to make sure it wasn't corrupted did not fix the issue.
My hot end is not scraping on the bed, so that is not the source of excess friction or other issues.
I've tried solutions from different forums with no luck. This includes ensuring the belt is tight enough, that my hot end is clean, and that I'm not in silent mode.
I'm pretty lost on this one, so any and all recommendations are appreciated. If needed I can record the issue and add a youtube link.

Isn't the belt too tight? Does the x-carriage move freely by hand (when the printer is off)? Does the x-carriage move freely with belt taken off? Isn't extruder cable wrap stuck behind heatbed cable wrap?

Appreciate the response.
The belt shouldn't be too tight. Regular XYZ calibration goes without any problems and it does move freely. The cable also isn't being caught on anything.
I just replaced the bearings to see if that helps, since I know they were having some issues. *I just tested this and it did not solve my problem.*
Re: X-Axis Seizing When Print Is Starting
Then it looks like your slicer uses inappropriate speed and acceleration settings, which the printer can't cope with. Or maybe you accidentally set feed rate way over 100% (check on LCD of the printer).

My printer is having this same problem after running the first V2Calibration.gcode print and adjusting the z-height. Did you find a solution?
Re: X-Axis Seizing When Print Is Starting
We have the same problem... actually we couldn't print anything yet, we discharged mechanical assembly errors and we updated the firmware. Did anyone find a solution???
