What slicer do you use?
I just wanted to see which slicer people have been using and why. I usually use Simplify3D but from the forum is seems like people are having issues with it and the MK2.

90% Slic3r, 10% S3D.

Use: Slic3r (The Official Prusa Version) only.
Why: It's free (can't afford Simplify3D) and it's supported by Prusa. It is packed with features, however, it is very technical looking and could do with the GUI being given a makeover. Cura looks nice and I plan on trying that out soon.

KISSlicer (99%), Cura 15.04.6 (1%).
Kiss is difficult to get the hang of, but when you do it produces rather excellent prints. It can be a but fussy with imperfect models though, hence the use of Cura on occasions.

Right now, slic3r. However, I might consider simplify3d at a later stage.
I've got this sneaking suspicion using slic3r somehow triggers an issue causing my macbook not to wake from sleep, which is very inconvenient.

The downloads are accessed from the Official Release Dropbox thread. It looks like 1.5 was released 7 days ago.

Pretty much 100% S3D, i havent found a need for anything else right now. And I <3 that Josef provides settings for it as well.
I slice alot of files, and usually large ones, so the speeds (and also the definable supports) of S3D are what i appreciate.
I'm having no issues with it , Andy are you using Josef's latest provided settings?

I mostly use Slic3r, even if I know some of his limitation (tend to crash quite often especially when slicing object multiple times one after the other) but now I feel confortable with it.
I tried KISSSlicer but I had some difficult time to understand how to use it. It's not a question of sofware quality but a question of mental agility 🙂
I tried the Simplify3D of a friend of mine (too bad they don't have a try version) to deal with specific difficult prints, but honestly I didn't find it to deserve the "magical tool that works flawless in every situation" reputation :/ But for sure, it's very fast !

I did my first prints today, aside from the frog that comes with the printer. I printed the 3d hub marvin at 200 and 100 microns and both printed great. I'm printing a custom design and fighting some blobs at the start of each layer, but aside from that Simplify3D seems to be working pretty well for me.

Possibly this video series helps. There are compared Slic3r, Cura, Simplify3D and Craftware.
I use Simplify3d since about 2 years without problems.

Simply3d from day one, have tried others but once you get the hang of one program it is hard to switch, kinda like CAD programs, except shorter learning curve.

Nope, nothing modified, for the materials ive tried so far on the Mk2 the settings for s3d provided by Josef work great ( i havent tried any filled PLA yet , woodfil etc, but im guessing i may need to modify for those. )
