What does this line of the Gcode do from Silc3r?

On Prusa Slic3r ending gcode. It does call "G4 ; wait" before everything else. What does it do? Why wait before everything else?

G4 (P0) Pauses for no time. This is the same as saying "Clear out the movement buffer before implementing the following commands"

So if the heaters and fans are turned off after the G4, they are now done so after the movement buffer is empty rather than immediately upon receipt of those commands.
