the printer stops during printing
Hi,
two days ago I started a print on my prune, but as it was positioned, it broke the plastic part holding the y-axis endstop.
So I printed the broken part with another 3d printer I mounted the new part and I run the 3d printer test to see if everything worked correctly. the test ended with success. but now when I print this it goes on for a short while then after a while it stops printing.
You know how to give me some advice.
thank you
Re: the printer stops during printing
first: it's a common problem that the plastic part that holds the y-endstop might crack... but it could be easily and reliable glued together with pure acetone (because it's abs).
but now you've got a new, printed part and replaced it.
therefore you needed to disassemble a part of the y-frame, especially the part where the power cables are fixed with zip-ties to the threaded rods.
I assume that you've either moved the cables so that their connectors now have a bad contact at the rambo board or at the psu, or that you've damaged these cables.
check the connectors at the rambo and the psu first. try to unplug them (are they stuck or burnt in ?) and plug them securely in again when they are undamaged. when they are damaged (molten or carbonized), replace them before proceeding with printing attempts.
dem inscheniör is' nix zu schwör...
Re: the printer stops during printing
i have replaced the part broke and when i have finished, I went into calibration from the menu and I did the test of X, Y and Z axes finished successfully.
what I noticed during the printing in ABS the temperature of the hotend is 255 C ° and the bed temperature is 100 C ° and after about 5 or 8 minutes the temperature of the hotend is 250 C ° while that of the bed decreases until it reaches about 75 ° C causing the object to detach itself.
Last night I tried to print a file found on the SD card included with the printer and I did not have any problems. I think having touched the Cura configuration, which I use to create G-code files, I have involuntarily changed some configuration.
Before the accident all the files created on Cura were printed regularly but I never printed in ABS.
tonight I will test with other tests.
Thank you for the reply
Re: the printer stops during printing
i done different tests. mechanically the print is fine I resumed the calibration . I think the problem is at software level.
when I print with PLA the temperature is good but when i print ABS material the print start with the teperature hotend of 255/255 C° and the bed 100/100 but after about 5/10 minuts there is the temperature change; the hotend 250/255 C° e the bed 78/100 so the object removed of bed.
How can I solve this problem?
Re: the printer stops during printing
My tips to print ABS is:
1. Make sure the part cooling fan is OFF
2. Use "High Power" mode if you haven't.
3. Try to print ABS in an enclosure.
If problem still exist, try to do PID calibration for your hot end and heat bed. If none of those help, you might want to contact their technical support for help. You might have a faulty PSU, or broken cable or loose connector. Those are my 2 cents, I hope that helps. 😀
