Static Memory has been Overwritten

Hi All - Not sure if this is the right place but after doing some cable adjustments on the extruder I fired up the machine and after a Z adjustment calibration the machine went into this error on the LCD Display -

Static Memory has been Overwritten.

After re-powering everything worked as normal and I printed. It did not remove my Live Z setting.

Can somebody tell me what this error means and what did it overwrite?

Thanks,
Kevin

Re: Static Memory has been Overwritten

which firmware release do you use at your printer ?
with rel. 3.0.10 prusa changed something, to fight these stack overflows.

Re: Static Memory has been Overwritten

I can confirm, I have this problem as well on the 3.0.10 firmware. I keep getting this after my selftest fails with a y endstop wiring error.

Re: Static Memory has been Overwritten

I just encountered a similar problem with my MK2, new kit built in April and was perfectly calibrated and printing spot on since with no errors. After a week of solid perfect prints and filament changes, prints all of a sudden started coming out looking like there might be some "wobble" with the printer. Re-zipties holding the bed and bearings, calibration was skewed but would adjust. Printed a test print, which came out fine and shut the printer off for the night. The next day the first print had the issue again. After hours of re-calibrating with caliper readings within 1/100th of matching accuracy between measured points, still got the skew message but software would adjust, prints still were bad. Finally stripped, re-calibrated/caliper measured everything again and tightened everything except for the wiring which I never touched. The selftest resulted in an error message to check Y-endstop wiring error and then the static memory error has been overwritten message. I've factory reset the hardware, reinstalled the newest firmware, but no change. I switched the X-stop motor cable with the Y-stop motor cable to see what would happen, the error message switches to the X-stop wiring, which makes me think that the problem might be with the board.

Spoke with online support, they were not familiar with the issue and asked that I send a video of the problem so they can share with the tech team. Not sure if you've been able to fix the problem, but wanted to share the experience. I've attached some photos of pre-issue prints and the prints between the calibrations before the static error message. Hopefully there will be a solution soon for this.

Selftest failed saying to check Y-endstop wiring. You swapped the x and y endstop cables and the error message changed to X-endstop wiring.

The problem followed the cable you swapped, so I'd say you've got a bad endstop switch or wiring. Can you check to see if the endstop changes state from the calibration menu? If you don't see a change of state there, you can check it with a multimeter.

Re: Static Memory has been Overwritten

I will try that, thanks! I have since tested moving the motors through settings and then swapped the x and y cables on the board, it is clear that there is a fault on the board as the y-motor moved correctly when plugged into the x-motor port, but the x-motor would not reverse when plugged into the y-motor port.
