Reluctant sale of prusa i3 mk2

Hi, I am having to sell my prusa i3 mk2 as no longer have room for it. 🙁 It was an original mk1 bought in Feb of this year and I then bought the upgrade kit and rebuilt it and have done about 30 hours of printing since. I live in Gloucestershire (England) if anyone is interested in buying a ready built 3d printer fully working. ? ? Collection would be great as I would gladly demonstrate the printer. Can post in UK if need be. Send me a message if interested.

Hi James,
Sorry couldn't send you a pm as I've only just registered and don't have the rights yet, I can offer you £420.00 delivered paid via paypal of which I will also pay the fees on the transaction. If you sell it on ebay I'm guessing it will be around your asking with ebay/paypal fees.
If your looking for more though I may as well buy a new kit with full warranty.
Many thanks, Andy.

@ben,
Thanks yeah that was a good deal, Always makes me wonder why people are reluctant to post as most of the stuff bought today is posted, I put it down to l laziness> Can't be bothered to get a box for it or go out and buy packing materials. ? These things are sent from Europe afterall...

In boxes specifically designed to house the printer and keep it safe during transportation. Anyone buying a kit won't have one of those boxes and would not want the printer to be damaged during shipping. That has the potential to be a very expensive mistake.

I was happy for it to be split Peter and I was going to arrange a courier to collect so definitely laziness some times. Even if it did not work I would only fix it 😉

Sorry thread hijack. Good luck with sale. 🙂

Thats what insurance is for, plus if you use the right wrapping materials and sure make stuff is correctly packed it limits the possablity of damage during shipping, I normally buy a huge roll of bubble wrap and mummify the shipping parts lol. I find it's nearly always people who cheap out on packing materials i.e use a flimsy box they had laying about and don't wrap parts individually that you run into problems.

Thread has been busy, I'd accept £430 shipped and I wouldn't be able to post til Thursday of this week as I'd have to go to work to get cardboard for packaging. Rest assured the packaging would be overkill and I do have extras to go with the printer to get you started. And it is setup running perfectly. Why did this other guy sell so cheap with so many filaments? Couldn't get it working so gave up? Cheap Chinese filament that wouldn't work? Anyway offer is there. Cheers.

Re: Reluctant sale of prusa i3 mk2

Thanks for getting back to me James, mmm can you please list the extra's it comes with ? , I would prob do a bank transfer in that case as I'm not a million miles away from a new kit price @ £430 with paypal fees....

Many thanks, Andy.

Hi, extras are 2 x 16gb sandisk sd cards, 1 x 5 metre quality power lead(original only 2 metre), 1 x brand new unused hatchbox silver abs 1kg filament, 1 x partially used hatchbox black abs 800grams filament, 1 x partially used hatchbox white abs 200grams filament, 50 x 70% IPA alchohol wipes. The most important thing is it is fully built which means it retails new for £789 plus shipping. The kit price is irrelevant in this case unless I take it all apart. Not everyone is going to be able to build this thing properly, it isn't mechano! The more I think about it the more I think I should actually keep it as it is not worth selling it this cheap.

Re: Reluctant sale of prusa i3 mk2

Ok fair enough, I'm obviously looking at kit as I build many things so it doesn't faze at all building my own hence I could care less about paying extra for fully built one. Let me know if you change your mind as I won't be buying my kit till the end of the year.
Thanks, Andy.

Re: Reluctant sale of prusa i3 mk2

James keep it. You know you want too. Make a Lack table enclosure for it to move it off the table or where ever it is and give yourself more room 😉

Thats like buying flat pack furniture, putting it together and adding £300 to the price. Not going to work like that.
I am a dumbass and I made my kit. Luckily Josef has made an awesome assembly guide 😕

I literally don't have a room for it anymore, my 6 month old boy stole my printer room. It sells for £789 plus shipping so how am I adding £300 on, I am offering it at £430 inc shipping so I am taking off £300?

Re: Reluctant sale of prusa i3 mk2

James it was a figure of speech I know you have not added £300 😉 I was just trying to explain that it is not £789 its £579 brand new and shipping makes no odds when selling second hand.

Stick to your price or keep the printer. You could make lots of nice toys for your son. Use some food safe filament 😉 Or lend it to me, Ill pay it off slowly and build you whatever you want. Ive got plenty of room just not lots of money at the mo.
