Recalibrate with every new roll?

I've found myself having print problems when i change out my filament. Do I have to recalibrate if i go from one pla to another?

Depends on your problem. Different filament might need some small Z adjustment. But no need for calibration, you can tune this up at the print beginning from menu very fast.

I'm concerned because I'm using something besides prusa filament and after a recalibration I'm at -.7mm and on the prusa roll I was at -.5. I'm also getting blobs:

Same exact problem again. Dropped it to -1.5mm and got clicks. Raised it and clicks stopped bit I'm back to the sensor warnings. Do I just have a bad printer?

The black filament is still PLA or ABS/PETG?
There is a significant difference in Z height between PLA and ABS or PETG. You have to adapt it when changing. Also there is a difference in printing temperatures in case you are trying to print Prusa logo from SD card with both filaments, it will not work.

No, in this case I'm using pla for everything.
