Questions about the Multi Material upgrade

Just seen this upgrade, and it looks awesome. and im curious as to how it connects, how its installed?

I have a Prusa i3 knockoff, from Sunhokey (i believe)
It has the "MKS Gen z2 v1.1" motherboard.

Does any one know if the Multi Material Upgrade would be compatible with my printer?

Re: Questions about the Multi Material upgrade

No it is not. It is only compatible with the original Prusa i3 Mk2 or at a push, printers using the mini RAMBo 1.3a.

Re: Questions about the Multi Material upgrade

Why is it not compatible? Is it due to pin assignments being set by the postprocessing script to handle the multiplexer?

Pin assignments are not set using a PP script.

Amongst other things, the firmware (already modified for the RAMBo) requires certain pins to be used for the demux which are on header P3. Another thing is that the controller board requires digipots for motor power (which is varied during prints).
